How does it work?

Reinventing parametric design

ExpressMarine takes a fresh approach on parametric modeling. A combination of mathematical and graphical parameters set the base for the 3D model. This forms the ship's DNA from which the entire structure is developed. Changes made at this level will propagate down the hierarchy and allow interdependent elements to morph accordingly.

Strategic parametrization

Prioritizing efficiency, ExpressMarine allows the use of parametric and non-parametric elements in the same model, thus minimizing the disadvantages of the fully parametric approach, where modelling time is wasted on thorough definitions of certain parameters which may never be used later.

Simply use Rhinoceros to model complex geometries or import and transform them into an ExpressMarine structural object.

Export seamlessly to other tools

Taking advantage of the Rhino's power to export to numerous file formats, ExpressMarine enables seamless transfer of geometry to other tools, making it an ideal pre-processor for detail engineering, FEM testing, weight tracking, class drawings, etc.

Pro Version

Meant for professional ship design departments, the Pro Version offers all the functionalities of ExpressMarine coupled with full customer support. There are no limitations in terms of model dimensions, deck number, maximum number of structural elements, etc.

Most of the development effort is focused on this version. Customer feedback and requests will be prioritized here.

Online training or at customer's site can be requested.

It is available for purchase in 2 options:

  • Subscription - implies annual renting of the license which includes updates, maintenance and support

  • Perpetual - (one time purchase) but annual updates, maintenance and support will add extra cost

Each option comes as standalone or network license.

A standalone license is fixed to a machine, but it can be manually transferred to a different one.

Network licenses float within a network and any machine can automatically pick and reserve one, if available.

The subscription model offers the customer the possibility to adapt the number of licenses to current needs and spread the investment over a longer period.

The perpetual model offers the ownership of the software but implies a higher initial investment. The optional annual updates, maintenance and support package will add extra cost.

Small Craft Version

Keeping the most essential functionalities of ExpressMarine, the Small Craft Version was developed to support boat designers or small companies in their design process. Customer support is only available by email. The model maximum size is limited to 24 meters and up to 3 decks (tiers) can be included. Advanced add-ons may not be supported. Network licenses are not available.
